CHANGING CUBICE

Kids will always be kids! Believe you me as a mother to three I know just how handy it would be to have a private changing space for when your child does that wonderful thing; spilling the entire contents of their cup all over their outfit or has an upsetting soiling incident during a family picnic in the park.

TRAVEL PORTALOO

Beat searching for those pesky unhygienic public toilets and portaloos during family festivals, camping trips, hikes and picnics by taking your own! The ultimate must have accessory can simply be pegged to the ground for the entire day, then easily packed away when going home. How awesome! No more searching for a public toilet/portaloo, with your recently toilet trained toddler. Genius!!

NOTE; Universal disposable potty liners can be used for outdoor waste disposal.

RESEARCH

Evidence suggests that children even as young as 2 years old are familiar enough with their surroundings to feel the need for privacy. This need will often be seen in children who hide behind furniture, tables and curtains in a bid to shield themselves out of sight. The Petit en Suite provides that safe, familiar, and private space which is commonly desired for by our infants. In addition dramatically reducing the training time needed, along with mentally preparing them for the eventual transition to the big bathroom.

Research statistics highlights the fact there are currently up to 3 children in most reception classes, here in the UK, still wearing nappies. With an astonishing 70% of primary teachers admitting they have experienced soiling issues in the past. Unfortunately this problem is on the rise year on year, causing significant problems in schools nationally. Teachers are neither trained nor permitted to deal with soiling issues. As a result, this causes disruptions to the smooth running of a classroom environment, meaning education could be effected.

It’s every parents’ worst nightmare that their child could be seen as different, singled out or bullied at school. Agree? Our brand goal is to design fun innovative toilet training products that help children be clean and dry in time for school.

HOW PETIT EN SUITE WAS BORN

Hi my name is Alison;

I am a mother of three wonderful children (well most of the time that is)LOL

I guess you could say my ‘eureka’ moment happened back in Dec 2009 during the potty training process of our youngest child, who was very very reluctant to use any sort of potty.

We had no difficulties what so ever with training our two girls. However, attempting to train our son was a very different experience. Then, one morning, our eldest daughter, aged 9 at the time, was making a little duvet den in the living room for her younger sister. Astonishingly, whilst nobody was paying attention our son took the opportunity to drag his previously unused potty inside the shelter and used it, for the very first time…. EUREKA!

It was immediately apparent that privacy had been the underlying issue all along. Straight away we assembled a small tent in the corner of the living room, placed a potty inside, and from that day on he referred to the tent as his ‘mini bathroom.’ The fun novelty product obtained the attention from all our friends and families’ children. This made me realise the idea had potential to entice children to toilet train using the unique, new, fun and exciting approach.

Having no experience in product design or bringing products to market I literally did not know where to start. Eventually, I was inspired by a product design company showcasing people’s inventions on TV. So I took the plunge, contacted them and started the beginning of the most fabulous journey. It’s a journey that has been extremely turbulent but already so very rewarding.
